Shawn M. Warren

d. September 4, 2019

Shawn Marie Warren, Age 61, of Westland, MI passed away September 4, 2019.

Shawn Marie Warren was born September 13, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Robert B. and Nancy M. Warren.  She accepted Christ early in life and was a member of Parks Memorial AME Church in Romulus, Second Baptist Church of Romulus where she was baptized and later in life, Bridgeview Church in Detroit, MI. For the past five years Shawn was an active member in Forgiven Ministry, Inc., uniting children with their incarcerated parents in the One Day With God program.

Shawn was educated in the Ecorse Public School system graduating as a Red Raider in 1975. After graduation she attended Grand Valley State College in Allendale, MI. Shawn worked for Garden City Hospital until 2014 as a patient accounting representative. After her retirement she traveled and cruised while spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed singing with MAGNIFY, fellowshipping with her classmates, being the personal photographer for her granddaughter Peyton and cheering her grandson Cameron on from the sidelines. Shawn truly loved life and took advantage of everyday she was given.

Our warrior fought a great battle and on September 4, 2019 she received her ultimate prize and went home to be with her Lord and Savior. Shawn remained strong and faithful throughout her illness, and never one to complain, she maintained a positive outlook during this final journey.

Shawn leaves to cherish her memory, her son and daughter in love, Ryan and Kathy, sisters Barbara Turner, Valeria (Jesse) Foley and Charlene Adams, grandchildren Cameron and Peyton, six nieces, Kathleen, Sherry, Chalonda, Joy, Aisha and Tanisha;  twelve nephews, James, Kevin, Aaron, Bryan, Kenneth, Kyle, Matthew, Robert III, Darrin, Ronald, Frederick and Avery; many great nieces and nephews,  a ton of loving cousins and a host of relatives and friends. Shawn was preceded in death by her mother and father, brothers Robert II, Derrick and a sister Cheryl.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fail; God will help her at break of day.

Psalm 46:1-5
