Ralph Caddell, 81, of Westland, MI passed away July 4, 2023.
Ralph Caddell was born on March 9, 1942, to his parents, Florence and Cicero, in Detroit, MI. He was a lifetime Detroiter and was one of seven children. His five sisters, Catherine, Shirley, Florence, Lois and Joyce, and one brother, Kim Freeman, preceded him in death.
Ralph attended the Detroit Public School system. He loved music, especially jazz, and he enjoyed playing the trumpet. Ralph also loved to draw.
On November 6, 1966, Ralph was joined in holy matrimony with Raynell Caddell. To this union, two children were born. They were married for forty years. Raynell preceded him in death.
Ralph was a dedicated employee at Chrysler for 30 years. He retired in 2005 and spent much of his time with his grandkids. Oftentimes, he would walk them to Family Dollar to buy them treats, candy and ice cream before sending them home.
Ralph was a very kind-hearted and soft-spoken man. He lived with his daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren for thirteen (13) years as he battled dementia. As his chief caregivers, they provided a loving home, special one-on-one attention and impeccable care for him throughout this journey. After a lengthy stay in the hospital, Ralph was able to return home under St. Croix Hospice Care and spent his final days with his loving family. On July 4, 2023, Ralph made a peaceful transition but will remain in our hearts forever.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his daughter, Raybrieal (Charles), son, Lamar, daughter/niece, Cleopatra, granddaughters, Alexis, Micah, Shaniya and Diamond, one grandson, Nolan, and a bonus granddaughter & great grandson, Caprice, and Landon.
