Naomi J. Henderson

d. March 3, 2019

Naomi J. Henderson, Age 25, of Southfield, MI passed away March 3, 2019.

Naomi was born to Almitra (Mimi) and Marc at Grace Hospital in Detroit, MI where her mother was born 25 years before when it was called Mt. Camel. The nurses called her lil’ peanut with her tiny feet sticking out of her yellow blanket. We knew little girls were different because when her brothers Christian and Daniel played too loudly. She protested with her soft cry. She was christened and raised in the Word of Faith Church.

Naomi lived in Michigan and California for two years and attended Keeler Elementary in Redford, Dolsen, Centennial and South Lyon East, where she played PowerPuff football and clarinet in band.

Naomi was a beloved store associate at the Aldi on Telegraph in Redford. But her dream career was to become a substance abuse counselor and a motivational speaker to young women in the struggle against addiction since owning her sobriety for the last two years. Naomi was a devoted mama to Skylar (4) and spent all of her energy being a blessing to her adorable daughter who she made sure was the best dressed toddler at daycare and being a best friend to her mama and inseparable sister, Destiny.

A carefree, witty fun and spirited soul, Naomi was the personality at the job. The life of every party and a stunning beauty who loved to strike a pose-popular with a multitude of friends and so well loved by her family. She will never be forgotten in our hearts and minds; remembered for her biting wit – ready to roast without a second thought, her infectious smile, her raucous cackle of laughter, and her true love for all her friends and family.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her great grandparent Katherine Brown; her grandparents Jean Dye and Herb and Elsa Dinwiddle Boyd; her parents Marc Henderson, Eddie and Mimi Henderson-Hudson; her siblings Christian, Daniel, Destiny, Nathanael and Marc (Micah); her daughter Skylar and her nephews Daniel Jr. and Marcus Henderson; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and beloved friends.
