Minnie Hoyle Gibson, 82 , mother of Michele Gibson Barker, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2020.
Born in Cleveland County, Shelby, NC, she was the daughter of the late Cethel and Cornelia Romaine Davis Hoyle.
Mrs. Gibson earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from North Carolina A & T State University in 1960. She began her Teaching Career in Gastonia, NC and became married to the late Cletus Gibson who was also in the Teaching Profession and they settled into the Columbus, Ohio Public School System in 1965. Minnie loved teaching and retired with more than 36 years of dedicated service. In recent years, she lived in Westland, Mi near her daughter and family.
Minnie raised 2 children, her son the late Gregory Gibson and surviving daughter, Michele Gibson Barker (Prentice, Sr) of Inkster, MI; three grandchildren of Inkster, MI - Cierra Barker, Prentice, Jr Barker, and Celena Barker. She also had two surviving grandchildren of Atlanta, Ga, Keambi Gibson and Kashif Gibson. Additionally, She had a late brother, James E. Hoyle (Sharon) of Simpsonville, SC and a surviving brother, Norman L. Hoyle (Sue) of Scottsdale, AZ.
There will not be a Memorial Service due to the CORONAVIRUS!!
