It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we mourn the passing of our beloved Lacie Nicole Nimens of Westland on August 27, 2020. She was born on May 4, 1979 and left us at the youthful age of 41 years old. Lacie will be lovingly remembered by her children, Anthony Bell II, Laila Bell and Azaiyah Bell; parents, Barbara and Jimmy Nimens; her siblings, Matthew Nimens, Jennifer Nimens and Tammy Aguilar-Guerrero; as well as the many relatives and friends who loved her so dearly.
Lacie will always be remembered as being the light-hearted, hilariously comedic, fun-loving, emotionally intelligent, intellectually stimulating, witty, brave, honest and candid personality in your life. She was the person who could still make us laugh from deep within the gut. That kind of laughter that comes from the most genuine of places deep within the belly.
Her heart overflowed with artistic abilities and a deep connection with words that she could twist and turn into beautiful artistic pieces of poetry. She made broad strokes with her paintbrushes, wrote stories and amazed everyone with her many innate and raw talents.
Lacie Nimens was bold with a big heart. That heart reached out into so many complicated places. She would step up and contribute her time, effort and energy to nonprofits that others would shy away from like sex trafficking and the Black Lives Matter movement. Those are only two of the many places she’s contributed her time, thoughts and effort. Lacie took stands. She didn’t back down from tough questions and stood up for what she believed in. Always. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
