Kimberly Anderson, 54, of Detroit, MI passed away September 2, 2021.
Kimberly Anderson was born on December 29, 1966 in Detroit, Michigan to the parents of Silas Martin and Karen Noble. She had two siblings, Anthony Noble and LuKata Noble. While growing up in Detroit, Kim attended Redford High School and met Sheldon Mims. The two of them married at a very early age and from their union came 3 beautiful children: Brandon (whom preceded her in death), Brian and Blair. She later met and married Dennis Thomas and together they had a beautiful daughter Ashley.
At a young age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She attended New Hope Church in Wayne, MI. Her love for gospel music made her join the choir. Kimberly had a love for music and enjoyed dancing and always sung songs to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed helping others and worked as a nurses’ assistant. Due to health issues she was unable to continue to work as a nurse assistant.
She was able to purchase a home in the city of Detroit, which was her lifelong dream, and where she later retired.
Kimberly leaves to cherish her memory: one son Brian Mims; two daughters Blair Mims-Martin (Al) and Ashley Thomas; 7 grandchildren, Courtney Lee, Kyli Lee, Vincent Lee, Jr., TaNiya Edwards, Brian Mims, Jr., Tinsley Thomas and Al-B Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Brandon Mims.
