James Orville Darrell, 65, of Inkster, MI passed away February 13, 2021. He was born in Detroit, MI to Jessie & James Rhodes on August 5, 1955.
He attended high school in Jackson, MI and graduated in 1977. He went on to earn an Associate’s Degree. He enjoyed staying fit, playing basketball and spending time with his family.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to everyone who stood by his side and cheered him on, as he did, what he does best. Fight! He fought to live. He fought to bring his family together. Because of wonderful family and friends loyalty and positive outlook, it encouraged him not to give up. Thanks to the ones who spent time with him and gave him hope. Because of you, he didn’t give in. He gave it his all. He was a fighter.
James is survived by his spouse Amanda Ward; daughters Paula VanOver, Jennifer Darrell, Chelsea Kietur; grandsons Christian Sollars, Connoe Kietur; granddaughter Maranda Sollars; brothers, George Darrell, Ray Darrell, Rodney Rhodes, Russell Rhodes; sisters, Georgetta Darrell, Jackie Darrell, Shirley Darrell, Paula Rhodes, Gial Rhodes, Brenda Rhodes. He is preceded in death by his mother Jessie Rhodes, father Jim Rhodes, identical twin John Darrell, dad George Darrell and sister Faye Darrell.
Family was everything to him. He was a hard worker, who enjoyed his occupation. He loved the outdoors. He loved to travel. But most of all, he genuinely enjoyed helping people.
