Helen Marie Smith
Born December 8th 1918 in Detroit Michigan.
She passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on July 16th 2020 in Garden City MI.
Helen was preceded in passing by her husband Dorman T. Smith and grandson Brent Ferguson.
Helen is survived by her son Peter (Lynda) Ferguson; daughter Merry (Donald) Simon; daughter Debra (Roger) Henderson; grandchildren, Timothy Rogers, Chris Rogers, Scott Simon, Shawn Simon Voels, Wade Ferguson, Ashley Harbaugh, Sarah Lara, Amanda Gesch, Earl Gesch IV, Jason Henderson; 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.
Helen lived all of her 101 years as an example of her Christian beliefs which were to be kind and compassionate to everyone. She passed on this lesson every day to her children and grandchildren as well as everyone she touched in life.
We will always remember her for the passion she had for gardening and working in the dirt. She said it made her feel closer to God.
Her smile was contagious and she always had a positive attitude, no matter the situation. Helen will be missed everyday by her family and her friends.
