Gregory C. Stewart, Age 72, of Inkster, MI passed away December 4, 2019.
Today we celebrate the life and home going of Gregory Curtis Stewart (fondly known as Greg, G, Dad, Pa-Pa and G-Pop) who entered into eternal rest on December 4, 2019. Greg was the eldest son born of six children to the late Irene Edna Bivens in Johnstown Pennsylvania. He later reunited with his father Eddie Ernest Jefferson of Cleveland, Ohio.
Growing up Greg attended Inkster Public Schools and graduated from Inkster High School. He participated in all sports and truly loved the game. He was drafted in 1967 to the Army to serve in the Vietnam War. Greg returned home with an honorable discharge April of 1969. He was welcomed home and received the Inkster Republican Club’s first “Vietnam citation” from the club’s Vice-President, John Walsh.
Greg was united in Holy Matrimony to Grace August 23, 1992. To this union a blended family was joined three daughters and a son. He was very family oriented and always provided encouraging words of wisdom for achieving positive success. He was a long time resident of Inkster, MI and took great pride in his home and his yard work.
He was employed at Ford Motor Company for 22 years. He served as an committee man with the UAW Region 1–A Veteran’s Committee. Greg retired June of 2012.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and faithful wife, Grace; (3) daughters, Deshadra Motley, Atiya and Rasheeda Steward; (1) son, Calvin Williams; father, Eddie Jefferson; sister, Annette Johnson; (2) brothers, Scott and David Bivens; (2) brother-in-laws, Robert Davis and Garnette Williams; (5) sister-in-laws, Cathlene Hughes, Gwendolyn, Catherine, Karen Williams and Colleen Ealy; (6) grandchildren, Kaliah Kirkpatrick, Nikira Robinson, Haleema Mohammad Carter Abney, James and Elijah Eberheart; (1) great granddaughter, Layla Bryant; (1) aunt, Jeanette Cross; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
