Emma Brown, 102, of Westland, MI passed away March 26, 2023.
Emma Francis Brown peacefully passed away at Four Seasons and Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Westland, Michigan and went to be with her Lord at the age of 102 years on March 26, 2023.
She was born in Clinton, South Carolina on January 17. 1921 to George and Lila Copeland (Meadows).
Emma is predeceased by her husband George Brown, daughter Vanessa Brown, and son Robert A. Lewis, Sr. She was also predeceased by her brothers Frank, David, and John Copeland and sisters Shirley (Searcy), Minnie (Reynolds), and Lila (Darby).
Emma spent her wonderful life serving others. She was a member of Payne AME Church in Connellsville, Pennsylvania and Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Statesboro, GA. She served several years working as a nurse at Northfield State Hospital in Michigan and at Connellsville Hospital in Pennsylvania. Emma enjoyed spending time with her family and friends as well watching soap operas and the Hallmark Channel. To know Emma means that you know she had a lot of spunk, a good bit of fight, and a huge dose of love!
She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Robert Lewis of Silver Springs, MD, Georj (Anchelle) Lewis of Atlanta, GA, and Brittany Washington of Connellsville, PA; Emma also is remembered by her niece and caretaker in the most recent years, Judy Reynolds, as well as four great-grandchildren, four great- great grandchildren, and a host of other nieces and nephews.
