Emanuel M. Jordan

Emanuel M. Jordan, Age 88, of Southfield, MI passed away August 14, 2019.

Minister Emanuel McDaniel Jordan Sr. was born on February 10, 1931 to the late Carrie and Leroy Jordan Sr. Emanuel was the fourth child of five children, all of whom have preceded him in death: Leroy Jordan, Jr., Willa Mae Beasley, Elizabeth White and Lorenzo Jordan Sr. Mr. Jordan attended Detroit Public Schools. He was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost. He was a member of White Cloud Empowerment Center Church of God in Christ under the pastorage of Bishop Robert E. Smith, Sr.

On December 15, 1951, Mr. Jordan married the love of his life - Mildred May Dunson. Of this union, four children were born: Cassandra, Emanuel, Jr., Ronald and Diane. Emanuel was a family man. He worked for DeSota, General Motors and the Chrysler Corporation. He taught his children how to ride a bicycle and how to drive a car. He made sure we had good working ethics. He made sure his sons had a paper route.

Our dad loved to sing Gospel Music; especially quartet singing. As a young man, he was a member of the Original Quartet - Ever Ready Gospel Singers. The singers included Emanuel, his brother Lorenzo Jordan, John Jones and Jackie Wilson. He enjoyed watching television. His favorites included comedy, wrestling, the G.E. Patterson Sunday Telecast and Bishop P.A. Brooks March of Faith.

Minister Emanuel Jordan, Sr. made his transition to be with the Lord on August 14, 2019. He leaves to cherish: his children, Cassandra (Maurice) Butler, Emanuel (Marsha) Jordan, Jr., Ronald ( Iwona) Jordan, Diane Jordan; four grandchildren, Frances Jordan, Carmen Jordan, Marsea (Gary Jr.) Roberson, Dominque Butler; Six great-grandchildren Aryonah Jones, Breyona Jones, Kinnady Jones, Malakhi Jones, Gary Roberson III and Gavin Roberson; one sister-in-law Doris Jordan; one godson Robert White, Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the White Cloud Church of God in Christ Family.
